Bailiffs Day Off

The bailiff fished on the lake today..on his day off! And caught a grand total of 18 fish,at average weight of 3 to 4 lb,including 3 running at aprox 7lb.

Bailiffs comment.... to fish in the margins as water temperature has increased thus the fish moving into shallower waters. All caught on corn and bread.

Latest Dear Editor press release March 2012

Published in The Algarve Resident Letters section
Great fishing, great customer service
Updated: 22-Mar-2012

Dear Editor,

Amongst all the gloom and doom of A22 toll charges and downturn in business in the Algarve, I have some good news to report!

I had the good fortune of reading in your publication, while visiting over the Christmas holiday, about the new Hideaway Fishing complex recently opened.

As frequent visitors (most months) and keen fishermen, we were delighted to find somewhere in the Algarve where we could wet a line and hopefully trick a fish or two into biting.

Tired of driving 150 plus kilometres to find lakes with a decent head of fish and sick of litter strewn banksides, this was such a pleasant change!

This new fishery, brain wave of the proprietor John Campbell, is a little piece of heaven for coarse fishermen like us; not only is it immaculately clean but also landscaped to a very high standard with level and safe timber stages to fish from.

We have visited several times now and have caught fish every time even following car scraping frosts.

John the owner even pre baited swims for us the day before we arrived giving us optimum chances of catching, he visited twice during the day to enquire how we were doing and offered lots of helpful advice. I don’t think the chap could have possibly have done any more to ensure we all had a great time, fantastic customer service indeed plus cold drinks are available during the day.

We were also fortunate enough to see his latest arrival of carp (about 1,000 fish) to boost his stock levels during one day. Some of the new fish were double figures in weight and in immaculate condition.

We can’t wait until the water warms up and the fish really start biting; think our arms will be aching then!

Additions to the Swimming Team

Things maybe be quiet on the blog, but work is still full steam ahead and lots is happening in the background.  On 17 March 2012, the Irish might have been out partying but we were carry on our stocking programme.
We stocked an additional 200 plus carp, both Common and Mirror.  Average weight 4lbs, also 20 fish at 10lbs plus
